Frequently Asked Questions

We accept several convenient payment options, including:

  • All major credit and debit cards (a 4% processing fee applies)
  • Cash
  • Checks

Our spring activation (also called a spring startup) is a full system check designed to safely bring your sprinkler system back online after winter. During your appointment, we:

  • Turn on and pressurize the system to ensure proper startup
  • Check for leaks, cracks, or freeze-related damage
  • Inspect and test each zone for proper function and coverage
  • Adjust sprinkler heads and nozzles for accurate, efficient watering
  • Inspect valves, backflow assembly, and visible components
  • Test system pressure and identify any performance issues
  • Review the controller settings and help program seasonal watering schedules upon request
  • Provide recommendations for any needed repairs, adjustments, or efficiency upgrades

Your technician will communicate findings clearly and review any recommended repairs before beginning any additional work. Our goal is to ensure your sprinkler system is fully functional, efficient, and ready for the season.

A mid-season check is a routine inspection performed during the summer to make sure your sprinkler system is operating efficiently after the spring startup. Throughout the season, normal use, weather, soil movement, and lawn growth can affect how your system performs.

During a mid-season check, we:

  • Test each zone for proper pressure and function
  • Adjust heads and nozzles to correct coverage changes caused by lawn growth
  • Look for developing leaks or worn components
  • Check watering efficiency to reduce waste and prevent dry spots
  • Identify early signs of issues before they turn into costly repairs
  • Adjust sprinkler clock for summer weather conditions

While not required every year, a mid-season check is highly recommended, especially for older systems, properties with shifting soil, high water pressure areas, or systems that showed borderline issues during spring activation. It helps catch small problems early, optimize performance, improve water efficiency, and protect your landscape during the hottest part of the season.

Our fall winterization (also known as a blowout) is designed to protect your sprinkler system from Colorado’s freezing temperatures. During your appointment, we:

  • Shut down the system and turn off the water supply safely
  • Use professional-grade air compressors to blow out all irrigation lines, valves, and sprinkler heads
  • Remove remaining water from exposed components to prevent freeze damage
  • Inspect the backflow assembly and main shutoff points for signs of leaks or wear
  • Check each zone individually to ensure proper water evacuation
  • Recommend repairs if we identify components that may fail over winter
  • Confirm full system shutdown and secure components for the off-season
  • For added peace of mind, we offer a freeze warranty (terms apply) when winterization is completed before the first documented freeze of the season

Our goal is to ensure your sprinkler system is properly protected through winter, reducing the risk of costly freeze-related damage.

Yes! We offer cost-effective seasonal maintenance packages for both spring activations and fall winterizations. These packages are designed to help customers save money, keep their systems in top condition, and reduce the risk of unexpected repairs.

During peak seasons (spring activations and fall winterizations), appointments can book quickly. We recommend scheduling at least 2–3 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. Repair appointments are available throughout the season, but earlier scheduling helps avoid delays during high-demand times.

We generally recommend that a homeowner be present during the appointment. Being home allows us to review the system together, discuss any findings in real time, answer questions, and confirm next steps before moving forward with any repairs or recommendations.

We do our best to accommodate urgent needs. While same-day or next-day service is not guaranteed, we always try to fit in urgent situations whenever possible.

We understand that plans change. We simply ask that you notify us as soon as possible, so we can offer the appointment time to another customer. There are no cancellation fees if cancelled in advance, but consistent cancellations may affect future scheduling. In some cases, a cancellation fee may apply if the technician is already onsite for the scheduled appointment time.

Colorado weather can be unpredictable. Heavy rain, lightning, or freezing temperatures may require us to adjust or reschedule your appointment for safety and accuracy. We will notify you promptly and work to find the next available time that fits your schedule.

If Sprinkler System Solutions of Colorado completes your winterization prior to the first documented freeze of the season, we cover the labor cost of repairs for any freeze-related damage that occurs during that winter season.
Replacement parts, and non-freeze-related repairs are not included. Additional details included on invoices.

The freeze warranty does not apply if:

  • The customer completes any portion of the winterization themselves
  • There is pre-existing damage before we perform the service
  • There is evidence of system pressurization after our winterization (someone turned the system back on)
  • The system was not fully accessible at the time of service
  • Winterization occurred after the first documented freeze

Full winterization warranty terms are listed on your invoice, and we are happy to provide additional details upon request.

The freeze warranty is valid only for the winterization performed for the current year, based on the date of your invoice. All warranty claims must be submitted no later than May 31st of the following year.

Colorado weather can change quickly. To ensure coverage, we strongly recommend scheduling early so winterization is completed before the first freeze. We post seasonal reminders and freeze alerts to help customers avoid last-minute issues.

Payment is due at the time of service, unless prior arrangements have been made. This ensures fast, accurate billing and helps us keep costs affordable for all customers.

For full system installations, major revamps, or multi-day projects, a deposit may be required. We will provide all cost details upfront and obtain your approval before any work begins.

We’re always happy to help. If you ever have questions about charges, services, or payment options, simply reach out. We believe in clear, honest communication and want you to feel confident in every part of the process.
